Duchene placed on injured reserve by Senators
Forward out at least next three games

Matt Duchene was placed on injured reserve by the Ottawa Senators.

The forward sustained a lower-body injury in the second period of a 5-2 loss to the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday.

It is unknown how long Duchene will be out. He is required to spend at least seven days on injured reserve, which will cause him to miss Ottawa's next three games, including Saturday against the Pittsburgh Penguins and Sunday against the Boston Bruins.

Forward Bobby Ryan was injured in the first period of the game Thursday. It is unknown how long he will be out with an upper-body injury.

The Senators on Friday recalled forward Nick Paul from Belleville of the American Hockey League. He had one assist in six games for Ottawa this season.
